In Hindi the word "rai" means mustard seeds, not "Rye". There is no word for Rye in hindi, marathi and Kannada as it is not natural to India or being used in India since ancient times. So it is called Rye only in Hindi.

flax seeds are called Alsi in hindi and semolina as suji.
