Man in the Mirror

Man in the Mirror stood up,
For front of him was a familiar face,
Face he had know for years,
But was it the same face,

For the face was wet with tear trails,
Eyes where ruby Red,
Before him stood a sad man,
Bogged down by his worldly pains,

A broken man with broken heart,
With no will to fight.

Man in the mirror tried to reach for him,
For he knew, beneath all the despair,
There was light of hope and happiness,
That could bring back the familiar face,

But he couldn't reach out for the man,
For he was the man, man in the mirror,
Only he could liberate himself,
From all the gloom, all the despair,

For then he realised, to save oneself,
One must reach out, within himself.
